Valley Springs Holiday Cottages, Devon - Notes about Fingerling Barn:
For your information:
There is one key which serves both the kitchen & front door.
Hot water during the summer months is controlled by use of the immersion heater, located in the airing cupboard in the master bathroom. Please turn this off after use – to conserve energy & to prevent the water getting too hot. (as this is not yet thermostatically controlled). From autumn heating and hot water is usually provided by the central heating system, automatically programmed to come on twice daily, morning and late afternoon/evening. Should you wish to adjust this in any way, please ask , as the programming device has a mind of its own and you may well end up with heating/hot water at all the wrong times! All the radiators have individual thermostatic controls and so can be adjusted manually, or turned off.
The waste disposal unit in the kitchen sink is now disconnected; please do not dispose of any waste/water through this unit.
The fridge is usually switched on for your arrival; the freezer may not be. The switches to both these items are located underneath the breakfast bar.
There is an extractor fan (and light) above the cooker hob unit.
When using the Jacuzzi bath, please be aware that it is a very large bath, and once filled, can drain the system of hot water! Please do not use the gold ‘knob’ on the far left hand side of the bath (as you stand to look at the bath face on); turning this knob damages the jacuzzi mechanism; it should always be left with the bar on the knob in a vertical position.
Most of the upstairs windows work on a tip & tilt mechanism – they either tilt open (ie are hinged from the bottom) or open fully (side hinged), by gently turning the handle.
If you would like any further information, please do not hesitate to ask.
